Shelf User Stories: Lesson Planning and Knowledge Sharing in a Classroom Setting

The Shelf User Stories series is meant to help prospective users understand why different groups and organizations have chosen to use Shelf. In this interview with Carolyn Feenaghty, a Special Education Teacher for the New York City Department of Education, we talk about how Shelf helps streamline various day-to-day tasks such as lesson planning and knowledge sharing with teaching assistants and the parents of special needs students.

One of the things I love about being a part of team is that I get to interact with our users; they come from great organizations and are even better people. And Carolyn is no exception! As a Special Education Teacher for the public school department in NYC, she spends each day working with children who have severe and/or multiple disabilities. This is extremely challenging work and I’m thankful that Carolyn is able to use Shelf to make it a little less challenging.

In this interview, I learn about what a typical day in the classroom looks like for Carolyn and how she uses Shelf to assist with many of the support activities that occur outside of the classroom, like lesson planning.
